November 2011

Why? It’s the simplest of questions; one everyone asks themselves constantly, for virtually every decision. It’s a question parents ask thousands of times while raising their children - sometimes with laughter, sometimes in frustration, often with concern when thinking of their children’s future. Andy and Julie Webb asked it when deciding what school their children would attend.

Julie easily answers “it was the faith component that drew us to Saints Peter and Paul. Any school can provide quality academics, but only here is it combined with faith formation.”

Andy agreed and added “we have seven kids and naturally want the best for each of them. Julie and I know how competitive college and life can be. In the eleven years our children have attended the schools we have became part of a real family. This school family partners with our family to provide challenging academics, Catholic values, and a caring, supportive environment.”

The Webbs currently have four children attending the elementary and high school. Two other daughters have graduated and are attending college. Ellie, a nursing student at Salisbury University and Abby, studying physical therapy at Saint Francis University, have shared how well prepared they were for the transition to college while so many of their peers struggled. “The college prep curriculum and taught study skills have allowed them to succeed,” commented Julie, “but even more important – they have a moral compass and a strong spiritual identity.”

Like the Webbs, your faith in our school shows confidence in how Saints Peter and Paul prepares young people to answer life’s questions. I would ask you to prayerfully decide how you will answer “How can I help continue this Catholic tradition of excellence?” Whether you make a gift of $1,000 as a Friend of the Dominican Sisters, a gift of $10,000 to the Monsignor Irwin Society or $50 as a Sabre Patron, your gift is important and continues our mission of excellence at Saints Peter and Paul School. With your help, our school will continue to be the answer to any question asking for a quality, faith based education on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
